What is Profhilo?
Profhilo® is a unique skin remodelling treatment designed to rejuvenate your skin giving you a refreshed and luminous glowing complexion.
Winner of Product Innovation of the Year, 2016 – The Aesthetics Awards.
Profhilo® is an effective and natural looking non-surgical facelift treatment, it is a new discovery in facial ageing addressing skin laxity, not just filling lines and wrinkles. Made of 100% HA (Hyaluronic Acid), it nourishes dermal cells and restores firmness of the skin. This is the perfect treatment if your skin feels dehydrated, dull, tired and lacks volume and elasticity. From the age of 30 skin begins to lose a significant amount of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid (HA). This treatment will stimulate the production of collagen and elastin with a slow release of HA which significantly improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Thanks to the unique characteristics of Profhilo®, your skin condition can be visibly improved after just 2 sessions, with a 1-month interval, and only 5 injection points on each side of the face. Profhilo® can be used on a number of areas including the full face (including eye area), neck, décolletage, upper arms and hands.
Profhilo® treatment can help to:
· Increase skin firmness and elasticity
· Tighten and lift skin
· Improve skin tone and texture
· Rehydrate skin
· Restore radiance

Profhilo FAQs
+ What exactly is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance found in the body that helps to hydrate and add volume to our skin. Natural hyaluronic acid is broken down by the body in one or two days so is constantly replaced. As we age this replacement mechanism diminishes so the moisturising and plumping effects of hyaluronic acid decrease. Hyaluronic acid is used for aesthetic treatments but is also used by doctors for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement, as well as eye surgery. Expect some mild swelling and some possible bruising in the treatment area..
+ What results can I expect from Profhilo®?
After just a single course of Profhilo®, which involves 2 injectable treatments 4 weeks apart, you can expect to see an intense hydration. It makes the skin glow and fine lines can disappear. You’ll notice smoother, tighter skin. Even for those with very wrinkled skin, an improvement in the texture is undeniable. The treatment can be repeated after six months in cases where more repair is desired.
+ How many treatments will I need?
To achieve the best long-lasting results, 2 treatments are recommended with a 4 week interval. Some people may see the results within first week, but the best outcomes of the treatment will be visible 4 weeks after the second treatment.
+ Is Profhilo® better than Dermal Fillers?
Profhilo® is not better than fillers, and vice versa. Each of these treatment options provide different approaches, so there will be one treatment that works best for your skin and your desired outcomes. Both treatments have different benefits and target different areas, therefore it is really dependent on your individual desires as to which treatment would be best for you. Generally, if you would like to achieve a more holisitc result that can be seen across your face, Profhilo® is the best treatment for you. However, if you would rather make small changes to certain areas of your face such as your cheeks, dermal fillers are more suitable for you.
+ Are there any side effects?
With the technique used for this product, firm massage is not advised after placement of the product under the skin. It is better to allow the product to spread naturally, so it is usual for patients to leave with small pea-sized lumps for some hours after treatment. Often, this will be only be the case at some sites. By the next day, the skin appearance is usually back to normal. There is naturally a small risk of bruising which is usually minimal and can be covered with concealer.
+ How long does the benefits last?
Maintenance treatment is carried out twice a year. However, this does not mean that after 6 months, the skin goes back to it’s pre-treatment state. The product ie hyaluronic acid will have near enough gone but much of the new collagen and elastin will still be present as this depletes a lot slower. Nonetheless, to maintain active skin remodelling, biannual visits are recommended..
+ Is there anything I need to know before having treatment?
We advise you to avoid Alcohol, aspirin, Ibuprofen, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and a range of dietary supplements including; St. Johns Wort, fish oils, Gingko Biloba, Vitamins C and E- may all contribute to bruising and are best avoided 24 hours before treatment (unless they are taken for chronic medical conditions).
Treatment cannot be administered if there is an active skin infection, including cold sores etc. Do contact the clinic to discuss any illness or new medicines prior to attending.
Ask your medical practitioner if you have any concerns.
